Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) Training

In support of our mission to offer professional development activities among our colleagues and promote broad dissemination of assessment instruments, Mellon Collaborative Partners offers Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) training workshops to instructors of LCTLs on an annual basis.

Each OPI training consists of a four-day ACTFL workshop with an additional session on proficiency-oriented reverse design the last day.  These workshops are mandatory for anyone who wishes to become a Collaborative Partner, but does not commit an individual to becoming one.  They are also a way to provide a potential Collaborative Partner with the background they would need to consider taking on the role.  We cover the cost of participants’ travel and lodging, most meal costs, and of course the cost of the training.

Each OPI Training Workshop is limited to 20 participants, but future workshops, which will also serve as entry points for participation, will be offered in the Summers of 2019 and 2020.
